I'm Back
That was a fun vacation to say the least. It was so nice for my marriage to have a getaway without Jaxon. I missed him like crazy and every little kid I saw on my cruise ship I had to go and say hi but I would of been more sad if he came with us lol. For the first time I felt as if this was a TRUE vacation. I didn't care what I did or if I was in a crowded elevator with a bunch of smelly people- I didn't have a baby on my hip or a stroller so I was vacationing. Now, Now... don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade my life now for the world BUT every once in a while it is nice to get away and feel "unneeded" in a sense.

Oreo Pops
Stick your sucker stick in your double stuff Oreo.
Freeze.
Once frozen dip it into chocolate.
Finish it off with sprinkles.
Let dry in a styrofoam block.
***Then freeze again if your party is outside because they will melt fast.
For my cookies and milk party I was looking for a way to display them that fit the decor and theme. I found this vintage flour sifter here and it worked perfectly.
(sorry this is one of the photos when my lens went all crazy on me)

HOMEMADE OREO COOKIES
Cookie Batter:
1 box devil's food cake mix
2 eggs
3/4 C. plain Crisco
Mix all together and roll into balls and bake at 350 for about 5-8 minutes. The will harden as the cool so DO NOT over bake them. While they are baking you can make the filling...
The Filling:
- 1 stick room-temperature, unsalted butter
- 8 ounces soften cream cheese
- 4 cups sifted confectioners sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I like the clear kind so the frosting will keep that white color)
After the cookies have cooled sandwich them together and watch them as they disappear from your table because they are THAT good.

COOKIE DOUGH BROWNIES
COOKIE DOUGH BROWNIES:
*1 box fudge brownie mix
* 1 box cookie dough bite size candy
Mix brownies according to directions but before you bake them fold in Cookie Dough Bites. Then back accord to directions.
They will melt a little when in the oven and then when they are cooled they add a little crunch. They are just divine!!

Milk Bottle Cookies
Milk Bottle (sugar cookies)
Recipe:
Are you ready for my gourmet recipe? Well it was a Betty Crocker mix. I know, I know, I shouldn't reveal that secret but I had to cut corners somewhere with having to make all these different types of cookies.

Okay this cookie almost didn't make it to the party. This tutorial is not great or perfect but it shows a non-baker trying to be a baker and how I got around an almost disaster.
First you roll out the dough. ( I like these rubber bands so it guarantees an even cookie.)
Cut out your cookie.
Bake your cookie.
Oh wait... the shape has COMPLETELY changed and now it looks like a balloon... ahhh what to do, what to do?
Pull out your cookie when it is still soft and re cut it with the cookie mold and discard the extra...
Phew... I could of had balloon cookies instead of Milk bottle cookies! It was totally worth burning my figures holding the metal cookie cutter.

Chocolate chip (sorry a friend made them so I don't have it but they were sure tasty)

How To Hang A Banner
I am going to post "The Main Table" into sections or else it will be overload of information because as you can see by my son's birthday party I have a hard time editing down.
Let's start with the birthday banner.
I first purchased this tie at Raspberry Days in Bear Lake before he was born. I later found the banner off etsy and had to have it.
So the whole theme was centered around one tie. :) The only problem was the tie was only cute with the banner and I had no where to hang it when my location changed from indoors to outdoors. So I went to home depot with a hope and a prayer and wondered around for a while until I figured it out...
1. screw eyes
2. two wooden dowels
3. screw in the screw eye and wahla! A place to hang my banner.

Sick Baby
(E.R. VISIT)
I have sick baby. Ear infection and croup so I will not be posting for a bit until I can get him better. But I do have some great stuff coming up. Some killer recipes, more of Jaxon's party, a baby shower display, and a party created by one of my followers. OH, but best of all is next week I am off to go on a cruise with my family!! (okay so that is only fun for me not so much for you but hopefully you will enjoy the other posts)

Milk Station
The milk station was a last minute decision. I was going to have it look something like this...
But after I had a few kids come over I realized it wasn't very "kid" friendly and things were going to get knocked over so I ended up switching it up and I am very glad I did.
I purchased the milk cartons at a local grocery store. They cost 25 cents a box and you have to order in advance.
THE BANNER:
I purchased red burlap at Hobby Lobby and cut it into a 6 inch strip. To get two banners out of one I just didn't cut all the way through the top banner (see example...). Next I used my cricut to cut out the "MILK" letters
I then attached one of the banners to two wooden sticks purchased from Roberts and spray painted white.
I used the left over banner by hot gluing it to the same ribbon as I made the tulle banner and used it here...
and here...

The Look Back in Time Station.
This isn't anything special but I am still going to share it. It always helps to know as far in advance as you can what theme you are going to do for a party and what you exactly want. I knew I wanted to have a station of all Jaxon's pictures from 1 week to 12 months so when I found this at a garage sale I got it for 5 dollars. Primed, painted, and added my 8x10 pictures. This will be a tradition I will have at all my kids 1st birthday.
It was windy and kept falling over and the pictures would fall out so luckily I did add the glass to it or we could of had even more problems. After propping it up it I just prayed a little kid wouldn't knock it over. (this was just an added stress I didn't see coming when I was setting up)
