PB&O cookies

Peanut Butter and Oreo cookies:

I found this yummy recipe on Pinterest.

Eating an Oreo is bad enough. But with this recipe you wrap peanut butter cookie dough around each Oreo. Did your heart just stop? If not it may after you eat a bunch of these I know BUT you have to try at least one right from the oven. You will never be the same because it is "uh"mazing!

Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar , packed
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
28 Oreos (1 package)

Directions:
In a mixer, cream together the butter, peanut butter, and both sugars until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, making sure each is fully mixed in.

In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Slowly stir in flour mixture, 1/3 at a time until completely incorporated. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Place 1 tablespoon of cooking dough on top of an Oreo cookie. Place a second tablespoon underneath. Gently press the dough down around the Oreo, sealing the cookie dough edges together so that no Oreo shows through. Transfer the cookie to a prepared baking sheet and repeat, leaving about 1 1/2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until cookies have just started to brown around the edges. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack
IF you don't want to try these sinful treats then I suggest these rolo cookies.

Cute As A Button: baby shower

"AS CUTE AS A BUTTON AS SWEET AS CAN BE A NEW BABY GIRL IS JOINING THE HATCH FAMILY"

(sorry the lighting is horrible and this was before I had a nice camera or knew how to even take good pictures)

On Saturday I helped throw a baby shower with two of my other cute girl friends. Wow it is so much easier to do a party when you have two other helping hands. I will be the first to admit that lately I have been stressed doing parties and I have been putting my family on the back burner to get all my little projects done so this was not stressful at all. I loved it.

Here is the cute invitation that set the theme:

obviously not with a lightening bolt on it :)

The food:

I reused some of my baby Jax's baby food jars and made mini parfaits

A fun and different way to have fruit.

(sorry again my external flash wasnt working right so lightening is awful)

Ice cream party featured.

My ice cream party is featured today on "thebirthdayblog" go check out this cute blog for a lot of other fun kid parties.

Button Cookies

(image from bakerella)

Today I am helping two other friends throw a baby shower. The shower theme is "cute as a button" and one of the treats I am making are these button cookies. . .

I got the idea here so go check it out to see the fun tutorial (which I recommend following and do not try to use a box mix like me because they don't turn out as good) I did sugar cookies because I like them better then peanut butter but mine lost their form in the oven. So if this happens to you then when you pull them out of the oven and they are still soft, mold them then again with a bottle cap and a straw.

to see what party I used them for click here.

Father's Day Gift Wrap

Father's Day Gift Wrap Tie

I found this photo on pinterest and could not resist sharing it with all of you. How cute and simple is this. Here is how you do it:

Take a piece of ribbon and wrap it around the package like a necktie, cutting the bottom to a point to complete the effect — but the simplicity of it is what makes it such a cool idea.

Dried Strawberries

Dried strawberries

Recently I found something new about my husband... he doesn't like fresh strawberries... WHAT? who doesn't like strawberries. Well, too bad for me because I just bought a TON from Costco. If you have some strawberries that you are not making into freezer jam and they look like they may go bad before you can get to them (like me) then you can try this recipe. I haven't tried it yet but I am this weekend so if you try this before I get to and it is gross... let me know and I apologize :)
Okay so here is what you do:

Cut strawberries in half and sprinkle with salt and pepper (sounds weird I know)
Then dry them in your oven at 210 degrees.

Enjoy!

Estate Finds

I love summer for ALL the obvious reasons but a new one that has started this year is for all the estate and yard sales. I went 2 weeks ago to a awesome garage sale that I heard of on Houseofsmiths. I got some candy dishes to use for my parties, a vintage camera I am going to use in my craft room (that is still under construction), some cool glass bottles/candlesticks, and my favorite vintage crate I bought for my mom. Then I also found an estate sale. Estate sales can be a little creepy because I feel like I'm walking through someones house who just past away and it gives me the hebby gebbies. I got over it real fast though when I found a cute 1940's skirt suit. It looks like it walked off the pages of the anthropology mag.

I found this at Gygi's for 60 dollars and I purchased this for 20 at the garage sale. I use it in my craft room to organize my ribbon and fabric but I am also going to use it for a cupcake holder to for future girly shabby chic parties. My favorite part about it is the exposed wood which you cant see because my ribbon is covering it :(

It's little wrinkly and itchy but oh well. I purchased both for 20 and I am in love with it but it leaves NO room for weight gain so let's hope by next winter I can still fit into it.

don't mind the greasy hair, I just got back from the gym.

Toy Story Party #1

This last weekend I did two different Toy Story parties. The first toy story party was for my cute nephew Brock. He is turning two so it says "Two Infinity and Beyond"

Enjoy...

My other nephew was jealous it wasn't his party. . .

The cake. I am no professional, I am the first to admit that but my sister in law was going to pay someone 80 dollars for a nice gourmet cake. Hey, for 5 dollars I think mine looks great!

Before I do a cake I will place things on a Styrofoam shape to get it to look how I want it with out taking off frosting on the real cake. This allows me to move things until I get it how I like it. . .

I just made my banner with two candles and a 2 inch hole punch that I folded over and then cut it into a triangle. Then I draped it over bakers twine and used a glue dot to make sure it stayed.

My favorite part of the whole party . . . .

The birthday boy (and friends) had his cake and ate it to. . . .

The birthday boy and his brother

Poor cake :( Any one else want to dive in and take a bite lol?
