This party was for my nephew Brock. I have been so busy lately with parties that I was unable to make the decor for this party so I just gave my sister -in-law ideas and she did the hard work. It was so nice to arrive to the party and all I had to do was the staging. There was no cutting out cupcake toppers, or wrapping water bottles... easiest party for me... maybe not so much for her ;)
This party was a little different than I approach other parties. We asked the birthday boy what food he wanted and we made it tie into the theme with the help of the amazing printables done by my talented friend Mimi's Dollhouse. I also had to let go of control. I am normally very opinionated on what I want and where to place it for each party. I take a lot of time to really think about the layout. I had a bunch of ideas such as covering empty boxes and making them look like buildings for the back ground and drape spider wipes over theme, but due to lack of time we opted to cover foam board with spiderman wrapping paper for the back drop. (super easy and you can do this for any back drop or party)
This party goes to show that you don't need to use all your grand ideas and spend a lot of money with a detailed backdrop or decor to make it still stand out. Now, don't get me wrong I love to go ALL out for parties so it was actually hard for me to keep it simple.
Enough talk, let's get to the pictures....
Cake done by my sister-in-law. I love the look of home made and even though it didn't end up like she imagined, I still think it looks cool. Hey, it's for a boy's party... like he cares :)
Cookies done by Dicks bakery in Centeville, Utah
They were suppose to be oreo pops but the birthday boy wasn't having the whole stick thing. After all he is the birthday boy and can cry if he wants to!
The photobooth
My brother, father of the birthday boy!
For the activity each kid got to cast their own "spider web" or otherwise known as silly string.
Each kid walked away with a spider man treat bag!

My nephew, Josh, was there and had so much fun! On Sunday I told him I was making a cake and he said he wanted "sprinkles and circles" on it like Brock's cake!
ReplyDeleteso cute! Even with your so called "simple" theme it looks amazing. I'm throwing a bridal shower this weekend and I need to pull in some of your prowess as a party-thrower(i don't know what you call it)!
ReplyDeleteYou created such a fun party! I'd LOVE it if you came over to Cast Party Wednesday and shared all your fun ideas with us! Thanks, I hope to see you there! ---Sheryl @ Lady Behind The Curtain---

Love this party, and the backdrop looked great. Even if it wasn't what you initially had in mind :-)
